To interact with the Worldcoin ecosystem, users must first download a compatible wallet app and create a World ID. They then visit a physical device known as the Orb to have their identity verified. Operated by independent local businesses called Orb Operators, the Orb employs multispectral sensors to confirm humanness and issue an Orb-verified World ID. Notably, all images are automatically deleted on-device unless users provide explicit consent for Data Custody.

Holders of Orb-verified World IDs are eligible to receive recurring grants of free WLD tokens, subject to specific availability criteria. The WLD token is designed not only as a utility token but also incorporates governance functionalities, empowering users to shape the future of the Worldcoin network.
